  • Common Offer Date Resources
    • Common Offer Date for 2022 will be updated at a later time
      • Common Offer Date Process
        • Each program participating will provide offers to their first choice candidates on the Common Offer Date
        • The candidate has 24 hours to respond
        • If a program still has slots to fill (a candidate turns down an offer), then the program will move onto the next round of offers
      • Neurologic Residency Applicant Sharing Document
        • This document can be used to place names of candidates that were not offered a position with your program.
        • Programs that still have positions to fill, can then access the document and communicate with the applicants on the list to fill any remaining openings.
        • A candidate's information should only be added to this document with the permission of the applicant.
        • You will need to respond to [email protected] to gain access to the document
  • FAQs
    • Why should I participate in the common offer date?
      • Residency programs of other specialties have initiated common offer dates with success. The goal behind a common offer date for neurologic residency programs is to benefit program applicants. A common offer date enables an applicant to make a decision based on as much information as possible.  Previously, an applicant may interview/receive an offer in January before having an opportunity to interview/receive offers from other programs.  The common offer date provides the applicant with knowledge of which programs will be extending them position offers, thereby allowing a more informed decision for selecting/accepting a residency program offer.
    • How does this impact my program?
      • A common offer date affords programs a more efficient interview process.  It decreases the likelihood of needing to expand or add interview days because their selected interviewees have already accepted offers at other residencies.
      • Another benefit for programs is inter-residency collaboration.  The common offer date and applicant sharing document provide programs with information about qualified resident candidates that were not selected by other programs.  This helps to ensure that all programs have candidates to fill program vacancies, but also so that as many qualified applicants as possible have programs to program is struggling to fill a residency position
    • How was the common offer date determined?
      • The date was determined based on a survey administered to neurologic residency program directors.  It purposefully aligns with a majority of the residency programs application deadlines and interview dates.
    • What is the Neurologic Residency Applicant Sharing Document?
      • This document is managed by the Residency-Fellowship SIG. It is a list of qualified residency applicants that have not been offered a resident position. It is generated from programs who have finalized their resident positions for the year, but have remaining qualified applicants. The list may help residency applicants attain interviews and/or positions with other residency programs that have openings.
